Joseph V. Thibodeaux was my grandfather, my mom's dad. He was the son of Alces and Victoria Olivier Thibodeaux and he was married to Elozia Daigle from Church Point in the Pointe Noire area. The house in the drawing is the house my mother, Virgie, was born in. It is located in Lawtell, six miles west of Opelousas. I was Joe and Elozia's first born grandchild and spent many a wonderful summer in this memorable old house. The water trough was carved out of a cypress tree by my great-grandfather.
