Young couples beginning their lives together on the bayou reminds us how love for some can be so simple ... so happy. This young Cajun couple are joined together to share a life full of laughter's and tears; a life of comfort as well as hardship; a life dedicated to each other. There will be children. There will be sharing. There will be growing old together. The young couple in the drawing are Leonce and Ella Marie LeBlanc Bernard of Lafayette. They were married on January 12, 1916 and had twelve children - five boys and seven girls.
